Air Liquide is supplying certified renewable hydrogen to the HYNOVA 40 pleasure boat during the Sea Show 2021, a sea cruise organised by HYNOVA between different ports on the French Riviera, from May 26 to July 10, 2021.

The Group is supplying hydrogen to the HYNOVA 40 yacht named The New Era throughout the test period, as well as during the entire Sea Show. The event will start in Marseille on May 26 and 27 and end on July 10 in Monaco, passing through Cassis, La Ciotat, Toulon, Porquerolles, St Tropez, Cannes and Nice.

Equipped with a fuel cell and designed by Chloé Zaied, this 12-metre long vessel has an autonomy of 8 hours and produces its own electricity without generating polluting emissions thanks to the hydrogen stored on board.

The support given to HYNOVA demonstrates the Air Liquide Group's drive to contribute to a more sustainable world through the development of a sustainable and innovative maritime mobility. The hydrogen supplied is certified renewable and illustrates the Group's commitment to low-carbon solutions. As a hydrogen pioneer, the Group recently announced to invest by 2035 around €8 billion in the low-carbon hydrogen value chain.

Air Liquide’s commitment to hydrogen energy

In the past 50 years, Air Liquide has developed unique expertise enabling it to master the entire hydrogen supply chain, from production and storage to distribution and the development of applications for end users, thus contributing to the widespread use of hydrogen as a clean energy source, for mobility in particular. Air Liquide has designed and installed more than 120 stations around the world to date. Hydrogen is an alternative to meet the challenge of clean transportation and thus contributes to the improvement of air quality. Used in a fuel cell, hydrogen combines with oxygen in the air to produce electricity, emitting only water. It does not generate any pollution at the point of use: zero greenhouse gases, zero particles and zero noise. Hydrogen provides a concrete response to the challenges posed by sustainable mobility and local pollution in urban areas.
